--- title: NICAM --- (NICAM-DYAMOND-SUMMER)= # NICAM ## Model description NICAM is a non-hydrostatic icosahedral atmospheric model ([Tomita and Satoh, 2004](http://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1016/j.fluiddyn.2004.03.003/meta)) with an explicit cloud microphysics scheme. The configuration used in the DYAMOND project is similar to that described by [Kodama et al., 2015](https://www.jstage.jst.go.jp/article/jmsj/93/4/93_2015-024/_article). **Contact:** [Ryosuke of vertical levels is 78, with increasing interval from the ground to the model top [csv]](nicam_zsdef78). ### Horizontal The horizontal grid spacing in the experiments was set to 3.5 km (GL11), 7.0
